Polyurethane Analysis by NMR

Polyurethane Analysis by 1H and 13C NMR

1H and 13C NMR is used to identify and quantify the various components in urethane products.

Typical Components:
1) Acids: terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, orthophthalic acid, adipic acid, caprolactone, succinic acid, dodecanedioic acid, sebacic acid.

2) Diols: butandiol, hexandiol, neopentyl glycol (NPG), 2,2′-DimorpholinoDiethyl Ether (DMDEE), ethylene glycol (EG), polyethylene glycol (PEG), propylene glycol (PG), polypropylene glycol (PPG), diethylene glycol (DEG), tetramethylene glycol.

3) Acrylates: ethyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, methacrylate, acrylic acid, metyl-methacrylate, butylacrylate, isobutyl acrylate, iso-propylacrylate, isobornylacrylate (IBOA), hydroxyethylacrylate (HEA), hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA), Pentaerythritol Triacrylate (PETA), dimethacrylamide (DMA).

4) Diisocyanates: Diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), Isophorone Diisocyanate (IPDI), TDI, methylene dicyclohexylisocyanate (Des W), HDT, hexanediisocyanate (HDI), HDI Biuret, HDI Trimer.
