Solid and Liquid-State NMR Studies of Polymers
Polymer Studies: – Example Data of EPDM (1H NMR) Relative ratios of peaks allow ethylene propylene ratio to be determined and ratio of olefin to paraffin allows Mw to be calculated. This spectrum represents an insoluble material that was separated from a “bad batch” of polymer.
Below is an insoluble material obtained from a compositional analysis of a used lubricant. Valuable information is present in the spectrum that allows the source of the material to be determined. No other analytical technique could yield useful information on this material.
