Inclusion of PIB Polymer Inside Gamma-Cyclodextrin
Sugar – Polysaccharide Example: Inclusion of Polymer in a Cyclodextrin Molecule. The solid 13C spin-diffusion experiment allowed the inclusion of a PIB polymer inside a cyclodextrin molecule to be confirmed. The experiment allows the discernment between inclusion of the PIB inside the cyclodextrin molecule rather than simply a mixing of the two components.
In the 2-dimensional plot shown below the existence of exchange peaks between the PIB and cyclodextrin molecules confirms that the PIB is encapsulated and immobilized inside the cyclodextrin molecule. These studies show obvious promise for monitoring the synthesis of molecular level, time dependent, molecule delivery systems.
