BTX and Detailed GC Analysis by 1H Process NMR
The GC analysis that can be predicted by the NMR spectrometer is very similar to the speciation that is derived from the analysis of naphtha to a ethylene cracker. For details of the parameters that can be obtained please see the Full PIONA Analysis of Naphtha.
Below is a series of spectra of pure aromatics components that are found in the aromatics unit. The NMR can be applied on the aromatics feed to determine the changing amounts of C6-C10 components. NMR should not be used to determine ppm purity levels in finished aromatic products.
All the following spectra were generated on a Process NMR Spectrometer in 1998.
