PDF Version
The International Aloe Science Council (IASC), a trade association representing the global aloe vera industry, has selected Process NMR Associates, LLC (PNA) as its primary provider for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopic measurement of aloe vera in regards to the organizations seal-based certification program. PNA’s services include measurement of aloe vera component concentration (acemannan, glucose, malic acid), sacharride distributions, formulation ingredients (sucrose, propylene glycol, flavorants), preservatives (sorbate, benzoate, citrate), whole leaf markers (iso-citrate, iso-citrate lactone), adulterants (maltodextrin), contaminant/degradation products (ethanol, acetic acid, lactic acid, succinic acid, pyruvic acid, formic acid, fumaric acid). These components are identified and quantified in aloe vera powders (200x and 100x), whole leaf and inner leaf gel concentrates (1x-20x), commercial drink concentrates and ready-to-drink formulations.
